The Garden Party at the 1911 Durbar saw a memorable scene when their Majesties, King George V and Queen Mary offered the historic Jharokha Darshan (The Ceremony of Sight). Passing in from the Jharokha, The Emperor and the Empress, attended by their Indian pages, were seen proceeding to a small balcony on the terrace leading to the Rang Mahal where the thrones were placed. The pages are later seen seated around the throne so that the crowd of sightseers and the guests in the palace have an unimpeded view of the Emperor and the Empress.
